Remember Your Health Is Your Responsibility – Part III

Are you taking multiple medications for different health issues?
Do different doctors prescribe those medications?

If so, pay close attention.

Responsible medical professionals ask for a full list of your medications before prescribing anything new. That step matters. It prevents dangerous drug interactions.

However, some doctors skip this question. If your doctor prepares to prescribe a medication without reviewing what you already take, speak up.

Ask one simple question:
“Will this medication interact negatively with any medications I’m currently taking?”

Listen carefully to the response.

If the doctor answers “no” without reviewing your medication list, pause. That answer isn’t enough.

Next, talk to a pharmacist. Bring a complete list of all medications. Include prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs, and supplements. Ask the same question.

Also, do your own research. Compare information from multiple reliable sources.

Most importantly, stay involved. Medications require monitoring. When no one checks interactions, medications can cause more harm than good.
