Posted on July 7, 2023September 24, 2024 by tshpblog

The kidneys are bean shaped and can weigh between 3.53 and 6.17 ounces . The weight of the kidneys vary between male and female and also left and right kidneys. The left kidney is located slightly higher than the right kidney. The kidney organ is approximately 12 to 14 centimeters long (4.7 to 5.5 inches), 5 to 6 centimeters wide (1.9 to 2.3 inches), and 3 to 4 centimeters thick (1.2 to 1.6 inches).

The human kidney is a vital organ responsible for product waste filtering and removing excess fluids and toxins from the bloodstream. Kidneys filter the blood by removing uric acid, excess potassium and sodium all while saving substances like water, amino acids, and glucose which are necessary. Properly functioning kidneys are essential to your overall health.
